Your Oracle cost $1,500. Its stock shower screen costs less than a dollar to make.
Breville builds exceptional machines. But like most manufacturers, they cut corners on internal components that customers rarely see — including the diffuser plate. On the Oracle, Oracle Touch, Dual Boiler, and Oracle Dual Boiler, this part is made from plastic.
That means every single shot, near-boiling water under 9 bars of pressure passes through a plastic component before it ever reaches your coffee.
Over time — sometimes sooner than you'd expect — that plastic warps. It cracks. It traps oils from previous shots. And when it does, water distribution across the puck becomes uneven. You get channelling. Extractions become inconsistent. You adjust your grind, your dose, your tamp — and nothing seems to stick. Often the culprit is this one small, cheap part that most people don't even know exists.
The fix is simple — and permanent.
This stainless steel diffuser plate drops straight into the same position as the stock part. No modifications. No tools beyond what came with your machine. The whole swap takes under five minutes.
Once it's in, water disperses more evenly across the shower screen and into your puck. Shots become more consistent. Channelling reduces. And you've removed a plastic component from your brew path once and for all.
It won't transform bad technique into good coffee — but if your machine is a few years old, or you've noticed shots that were dialled in suddenly becoming harder to read, the stock plastic plate is almost certainly part of the equation.
One upgrade. Immediate impact.
